Monday 24th October saw the successful launch of the brand new play about TB and HIV ‘Bad News? Good News!’ The play, which addresses social influences behind these so called ‘terrible twins’ is set in modern day Delft and is being performed by local youth and health care supporters at Delft Community Health Centre until the 31st of October. The venue was packed and our drama created a great deal of interest and attention from the hundreds of community members queuing in the clinic this morning. We had people of all ages watching intently as the cast and chorus energetically played out the convincing story of Petro and Dewaal; their journey through recognizing and treating Dewaal’s tuberculosis, resurfacing memories of child abuse, having a baby of their own and coming to terms with their new responsibilities and lifestyle choices. SLF sends hearty congratulations to the Delft Youth Theatre for Health group for excellent and engaging performances under very challenging circumstances.
