Farida is a Human Rights Activist and serves on several community based organisations, including the Delft Community Police Forum. She coordinated the Delft SAPS Victim Support facilities at the police station for 8 years in which she was Awarded 3 times by the Western Cape Provincial Commissioner of Police for 100% Compliance. She has a Diploma in the Child Protection Act 2005 0f 38, Child Mental Health Assessment and Trauma Counselling and enjoys putting those learnings into practice. She was introduced to SLF in November 2015 rendering counselling support to participants of the “PMA” Public Monitoring & Participation Project. In February 2017 she joined SLF as Project & Mobilization Support. She intends to study Public Management in the near future and aspires to be a part of the positive change within Delft and broader South Africa!
